RUFC - Nostalgia Night

Rotherham United Nostalgia Society's guest speaker tonight is ex joint-manager, John McGovern.

McGovern was joint-manager with Archie Gemmill between the seasons 1994-96 which famously saw the Millers first ever trip to Wembley when they won the Auto Windscreens Trophy.

He was born in Montrose in 1949 and, at the age of nineteen, he became the youngest player ever to have played in all four divisions of the football league. He got two U23 caps for Scotland and won two European Cup Winners Medals as captain of Nottingham Forest.

After leaving the Millers he had a brief spell in charge at Woking FC and is now a pundit with BBC Radio Nottingham.

Tonight's meeting (14 February) is in The Prince of Wales pub, Masborough and starts at 8.30pm - Everybody Welcome.
