'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Press Release

Within the last thirty minutes the Rotherham United Board have issued a press release.

The release is on our site and on the Official Site CLICK HERE

The bit that I think is most important to us, the fans is:

'We are conscious of a need to protect the club from any possible action from any of it's creditors. In order to cmbat this we have filed a 'Notice of intention to appoint an administrator.

'This does not mean the club is in administration or even that it will necessarily go into administration.

'Instead it protects the club from possible hostile actions on a time when the club needs to be fully focussed on finding new investment.

'Clearly the threat of administration will recede if a serious investor can now be found. This is something we all want and something the club needs quickly.

'However, if no deal can be brokered then administration would be the only option for the club and that would be a great shame as it would mean a points deduction.'

Personally, I have no idea what to make of this. Can you go into administration twice? Who is going to come into save us? If we get the minus ten points we can clearly say goodbye to promotion.

I have to say that this stinks.

Sounds a bit confusing to me!! Has any other club gone into admin twice before?
will it ever happen
We haven't actually gone into admin a first time - looking through it we actually took out a CVA outside of administration. It is very confusing though I have to say
herringthorpe
Oh right! Just going on what Sky sports said really. Very confusing though! So how many talks with investors have broken down? It seems quite a few?
will it ever happen
There have been several clubs who have foundered more than once , luton, bournemouth, swindon, notts county to name a few. What you should consider is a fans buy out through your trust and a ground share, until you can sort out your stadium IMHO, good luck to you fans, your board are fools who don't appear capable of learning.

can anyone tell me did fans get together after last 10point deduction and form the board or was it some outsiders
mick66owl
lets hope the stumbling block of the ground lease can be sorted out once and for all so we can move forward instead of festering come on booth family have a heart and be reasonable for a change otherwise rotherham will lose out not just as a football club but a town as a whole

no change with quinny mate hes quality and one for the blades future for sure. this is shocking to hear mate especially when you were going so good too. lets just hope you can get throught the season without the points deduction otherwise promotion wont happen. with a bit of lick you can starve off administration get promoted and everything should look brighter for you. keep the faith all millers!!
