'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Green 'it was great!'

Rotherham United gave a debut to eighteen year old defender Jamie Green on Saturday at Wycombe and he came off the bench for the final thirty minutes.

Speaking to MillersWorld, Jamie said, 'It was great to play. Even though I got picked for the bench I never expected to get on. The gaffer told me 'keep calm, do what you do best and good luck,' and I want to thank him for giving me my chance. I thought I would be nervous but when I got out there I just managed to block out the crowd.

'It was faster than playing in the Reserves and you your decision making has to be quicker but I really enjoyed it.

'It was a scrappy game and it could have gone either way. We have got to kick on now and win on Saturday.

'I think I deserved my place on the bench and I'm glad I got a chance to play.'

The lad did well - it's a pity he had to come on when we weren't playing so well
