'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins post Lincoln

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, said that yesterday's performance was 'pleasing.'

Speaking to the Official Site, Robins said, 'After the first twenty minutes, I thought we grew into the game and started to control it and deserved the win.

'We should have had six or seven goals but then we were playing Russian roulette at the end because we made the wrong decisions. But, although they were given a lifeline with the second goal, we were never really in danger of losing it.

'Marc Newsham has been absolutely outstanding in training and he came on when Derek Holmes had to go off - I don't know the extent of his injury yet. Newsham took his goal well.

'There'd been a dip in form and I made some changes today which gave others their opportunity which makes it healthy competition for the squad.

'Lincoln came with five wins on the bounce and it was important for us to win and I thought we were value for that win.'

i wonder what the outcome would have been if they hadn`t had a man sent off

I think we were getting on top by then tbh - and usually, playing against ten men makes us play worse!
