'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Newsham after yesterday's win

Rotherham United midfielder, Marc Newsham, came off the bench to score in the three-two win over Lincoln yesterday at Millmoor.

After the game he spoke to RotherFM, 'It's been frustrating for me not getting a place in the team but the gaffer said keep going and keep your head up and he thought I'd done well in training this week and it paid dividends because he put me on the bench and when Derek Holmes went off injured I came on and took my chance.

'When we were one down I thought here we go again but we got back in it with a great set piece that we've been working on. At half-time the gaffer told us to be confident, go and play and don't be scared and that's what we did.

'For my goal I knew Ryan (Taylor) would flick it on and the gaffer said I had to relax, which I did, and luckily it went in.

'We've been on a bad run but we played good today. We got the performance right but at this time of the season all that really matters is results.'
