RUFC Hope to Hang onto Players
Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, has told The Star that he is confident that Thursday's transfer deadline will come and go without any of his squad leaving the club.
The Millers, who are currently in the midst of administration, have already lost none playing staff in a cost cutting exercise but talking about his players, Robins said, 'I am desperate to keep what we've got and am doing all I can to make sure I do.
'There is still a chance we may get a play off spot and anything that might undermine that might have an effect on future gates and therefore the cash flow.
'We need as many fans down there today - and for all our remaining home fixtures - as possible. The more that come the better it will be for the clubs survival chances.'
Echoing the managers last comment is Mark Thomas, the Chairman of Millers Trust. The Trust are pledging two thousand pounds a month into a fund that will help the administrator and Mr Thomas has stressed how important it is to get people through the gate for the remainder of the season. 'The support will be vital and really will make a difference,' he said.
