RUFC - Transfer Deadline Day

RUFC - Transfer Deadline Day

Rotherham United are in administration and so are under a transfer embargo - but players, of course, can still move out of the club.

And, who would blame them? No chance of getting to the play-offs now, having their wages cut by half,, uncertainty about their futures - times are very difficult for manager Mark Robins and the fans.

Mark Robins had publicly said that he doesn't want to lose any of his players, and, having a squad of only eighteen available players, losing any of them would be a big blow to the young manager. But, with the Administrator looking at ways to cut costs he could well be looking to sell on the highest earners at the club.

Speaking to The Star, Robins said, 'The Administrator will have the final say, but out of necessity, as manager I must be kept informed. It's just a matter of wait and see.'

Like the manager, as supporters of the club, we can only sit, wait and hope.

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.
