'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Local Man in Takeover Bid

Rotherham United have another group ready to take over the club headed by lifelong Miller and wealthy businessman Darren Williams.

Brilliant Advice Group are an insurance brokers and financial advisors based in Cheshire and are said to have entered into discussions with the Administrator via it's managing director, Darren Williams.

Mr Williams told The Advertiser that he is confident the club can be re-launched as a successful and viable concern. 'The potential acquisition of Rotherham United is significant for the Brilliant Group and is a further material step change for our business. We aim to enhance the club's capabilities and provide a solid platform from which to build. This would be financed through the Group's reserves with no debt requirement to complete the transaction.

'We would also plan to invest an initial 250,000 working capital which would be invested in part to enhance the squad.

'A further announcement will follow once we have held discussions with the Administrator and the Booth family.'

Mr Williams, who grew up in the Brecks area of Rotherham, has been a supporter of the club for twenty years as well as a sponsor.
