RUFC - Ex Boss Sorry For Millers

Ex Rotherham United manager and player, Ronnie Moore, is said to be heartbroken after seeing the Millers go into administration.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, he says his biggest fear is that this could be it for his ex team. 'To be fair, they need a miracle,' Moore said. 'What they need is a die hard supporter to come in -I'd do it myself if I could because it means that much to me.

'I never thought I'd say this but perhaps the only way to do it is to get out of Millmoor so they aren't paying the crippling rent. And whoever comes in now has to seriously think about doing that because I think that's the only way to kick-on.

'I feel it all started to go wrong when Ron Hull didn't take over in 2002. The Chairman had agreed the takeover with Ron but it fell through. Ron is a good business man and had plans to do things but in the end it wasn't to be.

'I feel sorry for Denis Coleman, who I have a lot of time for. He and the lads who went in with him did a tremendous job in 2006 when they came in and kept it going because without that, what is happening now would have happened two years ago, and I have nothing but praise for the way they set about trying to save the club they love.

'I feel for Mark Robins and John Breckin because they would probably have got promotion this season until the ten points deduction. I keep in touch with Breck every week. It looks as if Robbo will be a top manager one day.

'It's unbelievable that Bill Crosby, the head groundsman, was laid off after twenty-five years.

'It's a real shame that after all the good things that have gone off at Millmoor to see the mess it's in now. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everybody.'
