RUFC - Fans Needed

Rotherham United Fans - Your Team Needs You.

There is no getting away from the fact that Rotherham United are in the sh*t. And yes, we`ve been here before, on more than one occasion, but this time it feels different. Don`t ask me how, but it does. Listening to the fans in the last couple of weeks I have heard very few positive thoughts. Yes, we got behind the team on Saturday at Morecambe but probably more for bravado than because we believed.

I mean, what have we got going for us? A half built stadium with poor facilities. A sad looking squad who are on half wages. Staff redundancies. Minus ten points with a possibility of starting on minus fifteen next season. Things couldn`t get much worse really could they?

Well, yes they could. I firmly believe that if something isn`t done soon, at 4.45pm on the 3rd of May the gates at Millmoor could be shut - forever.

So, how can we, the fans help? Its way past the time for getting the buckets out, sponsored walks etc. The Administrator is working towards an end of season figure and in doing this is hoping to get crowds of four thousand plus. Our final three home games are against Brentford (5 April), Dagenham and Redbridge (19 April) and Barnet (3 May) none of who are renown for fetching more than a handful of away fans with them. So, to get anywhere near the four thousand, the Administrator is banking on, we need the people of Rotherham to get themselves down to Millmoor, starting this Saturday, and show everyone that there is hope for Rotherham United.

If you`ve become a lapsed Miller, just take a few minutes out and think about what it used to be like - the excitement, the thrill, the banter, the hope and even the let downs - and then think of a town that hasn`t got a football team. That town could be Rotherham.

So, come on let`s see a lot more of you at Millmoor on Saturday - show the team, the management, the world of football that we do want a football team in Rotherham - show them we need a football team in Rotherham.

Don`t be one of those people who think about going - be one of those people who get off their backsides and go - after all, how will you feel next season if you can`t even think about going…..

how many times have we heard this? we need another tune it is always the paying customer that suffers.
millers4eva
I think this time, eva, its only the paying customer who can help
herringthorpe
you are probably right, but it,s us paying customers that have always been left in the dark
millers4eva
I agree - and it's wrong. I hope, whoever takes over at Millmoor, will start to keep the fans in the picture of what exactly is going on
