'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - 'Come and Help Save The Club'

Rotherham United's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas, has repeated what the Administrator, Jeremy Bleazard and us, here on Vital, have been saying, by asking the people of Rotherham not to desert the club in it's hour of need.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Mr Douglas said, 'This is the last chance Rotherham United will have to reincarnate itself. The cash flow is fragile and so much depends on support coming through the gates for the remaining matches.

'We don't want Sunday, 4 May to be remembered for the day the gates were locked at Millmoor and we went out of business.

'If we had been a ball bearing firm, the Administrator would have locked it up straight away but because we are a football club with heritage and tradition, it is worth battling for.

'We've had interest from potential buyers but nothing you can hang your hat on. We all want an eleventh hour rescue but that might not happen. But, we want to make sure that, at least, the eleventh hour comes.

'People shouldn't come on Saturday expecting to see a great team performance. They should come purely and simply to help save the football club.'
