'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Manager Happy

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, was delighted with the win over Dagenham and Redbridge today, in particular the way his team played in the first half.

Speaking to the Official Site, he said, 'We controlled the first half and when we passed the ball about it was excellent. Our movement was good too and all we lacked was a goal. The only blight on a decent performance was that we gave away too many free kicks. We moved and passed well and there was some decent decision making.

'We knew they would come at us in the second half and put us under pressure but we dealt with everything they threw at us. I thought Jamie Green played very well and it was only in the second half that they managed to put him under a bit of pressure.

'We did have three one on one chances and on another day we would probably have won by a higher margin.

'I thought Tom Cahill was excellent. He got hold of the ball well and used it well. Him and Ryan Taylor can build on that. I thought Danny Harrison's strike for the second goal was good and Mark Hudson is doing great things for us at the moment including weighing in with a good number of goals.

'I thought the referee gave some poor decisions today and there were a few heart palpitations in the second half

'We need to keep a squad together and the sooner things are sorted at the club the better as we have to try and build on what we have for next season. But I thought everyone was excellent today, especially in the first half.'
