'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Mark Hitchens 'one of my proudest moments'

Around one hundred Rotherham United fans dusted off their walking shoes and walked the twenty-four miles to Mansfield on Saturday to do their bit for the strickened club.

Setting off in the early hours of the morning they arrived at Field Mill with time for a couple of pints before they watched the Millers win 1-0 with a goal from Jamie Yates.

The organiser of the walk, Rotherham United Community Officer, Mark Hitchens wants to thank everyone who took part and made the walk a success.

Speaking to the Official Site, he said, 'It was one of my proudest moments to walk with fellow walkers and raise vital funds for the club.

'I would also like to thank the companies who got involved, without them it would have been much harder.'

Printability 2000 donated a twelve foot banner which read 'Walk With Pride with the Millers to Mansfield' and DBC Foodservice provided bottles of water on the way with the Prince of Wales and Millmoor Cafe opening up for early breakfasts.

'I would like to thank them all,' Mark said.

Mark has asked for all the sponsorship money to be handed to him as soon as possible please.
