Rotherham United's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas has been speaking to RotherFM about the takeover by ASD Lighting PLC.
'I think it's fantastic news,' he said. 'It's been announced a bit earlier than we expected and there are one or two techincal issues regarding getting the football league shares back to sort out. Hopefully, once that is done we will be in a position to take the club back into the football league.
'The Administrator, Jeremy Bleazard, is confident that these are the people to take the club forward.
'Whether we will be playing at Millmoor next season, I can't say. In the short term, I don't want the club to move away from Millmoor. But, there are issues with the current lease but hopefully negotiations will take place and that might mean we can stay here.
'I don't think the press releases saying that the current landlord had put a bid in were correct. Talks will have to get underway and let's hope common sense will prevail and we can stay here - but I wouldn't bet on it.
'The people behind this bid are football people. They are some local business men who got together and who recognise how important it is to keep a professional football club in Rotherham. I don't think it matters if they are fans of Rotherham United - they are people who believe this town should have a football club. Tony Stewart, Chairman of ASD Lighting, is committed and I am confident that there will be a secure future for the club.
'We've got enough funds to run the game on Saturday against Barnet. I'd like to thank the staff and players for deferring their wages and helping to make this possible.
'As we said in an earlier statement, we think the fans should know that this could be the last game at Millmoor - so don't put off bringing your children and grandchildren to the game.'
