RUFC - Negotiations Negative

Rotherham United's new owner-in-waiting, Tony Stewart, has been speaking with the Booth family, who own the ground, but says that, so far, the negotiations have been negative.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Mr Stewart said, 'Talks with the Booth family are still ongoing. But, we can't be talking for the next three months, decisions have to be made soon.

'In the past the club has relied on it's fanatical fans who all had the right intentions. But, we have to be more pragmatic than that and when expenditure is greater than income you are going to be in trouble. The lease for the ground and all the demands that go with it have become a big problem.'

Mr Stewart told the Yorkshire Post that he is seriously considering moving away from Millmoor and one of the options is to move to Sheffield and Don Valley.

Along with this is the problem that the club look like starting next season on minus fifteen points because of a CVA. But, Mr Stewart said, 'Mark Robins will have more funds this summer than he did last. He is a good manager and has assembled a good side. We have had two meetings and he is a bright guy who can do the job. And, we are going for promotion.'
