'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Will we get anyone in?

Our season finished just over a couple of weeks ago and we are now turning our thoughts to next season.

With manager, Mark Robins, releasing six players at the end of last week - and we wish all those players well - he is on the look out for new faces for the squad.

The one we've heard about is ex Chesterfield midfielder Chris Brandon who is out of contract at Huddersfield. An ex Millers midfielder was seen at Millmoor this week and hinted to one of our postees that he wouldn't mind moving back.

Robins has already said he will be looking for players who are able to leave on free transfers as there won't be a lot of money in the kitty. But, I would imagine he has come to a stand still at the moment, waiting, as we all are, for the prospective new owner to finally put pen to paper and buy the club. And who would want to commit to a club who, as yet, don't know where they will be playing next season? Having his hands tied since the transfer embargo was put on Rotherham United in January, the bonds might have been loosened a little but probably not quite enough yet.
