'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Dave Nicholls

Rotherham United are to hold a memorial service for Dave Nicholls who died at his home in Cypress two weeks ago.

Dave was the formal Commercial Manager at Millmoor and plans are being finalised for a tribute day on Wednesday at 1pm in the Rotherham United Suite with all fans invited.

Speaking to The Advertiser, his wife, Jan, said, 'I don't know how I can thank all the people of Rotherham for their cards and e mails. Dave was the love of my life and would go out of his way to help people. He was a gentleman and took pride in what he did. Even here in Cypress he thought of his beloved football team.

'He would have found it very humbling to think so many people thought so much about him.

'Thank you again for all your well wishes.'

Any donations collected on the day will be sent to Sitwell Rotary Club for distribution to local charities. If you can't attend the service then donations can be sent to the Rotherham Advertiser's Wellgate Office and cheques made payable to the Dave Nicholls Memorial Fund.

Wouldn't Dave have been happy with today's news that we are staying at Millmoor?
