'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Local Boxer Upset Over Move to Don Valley

Rotherham United fan and pro boxer, Paul Royston told The Star that his heart fell when he heard that the Millers were moving to Don Valley.

'You go to a football match to support your home team - I feel all our history will have gone when we move out of Rotherham.

'A lot of fans won't want to move to Sheffield because there's a lot of rivalry between Rotherham and Sheffield.

'At Millmoor you're right on top of the action and there won't be any of that atmosphere at Don Valley.

'The only way forward for Rotherham United is to have a new stadium in the town but that will take years.'

To be honest, I've found here on Vital, the Owls and Blades fans have all been welcoming - both saying we will be the second team in the city!

I know none of us wants to play our home games out of Rotherham but it's going to be a case of getting on with it now. My only worry is that we will be forgotten about and lose our identity but us Millers fans have to make sure that doesn't happen and we have to keep pestering the council to get their fingers out and get on with planning the new stadium.
