RUFC - Paintings Saved!

Rotherham United, as we all know, were in deep trouble and had to get an administrator in who began selling anything and everything worth selling to try and save the club.

Two paintings, The Millers - A Day to Remember by Joe Scarborough and Peter Watson's Millmoor, that had hung in the boardroom at Millmoor were on the list to be sold by auction.

I actually enquired about the paintings and had various contact with the auctioneers, Walker Singleton, about them.

This morning I received this e mail :

We write further to your previous expression of interest in the two paintings we were instructed to market by the Administrator that had been commissioned to celebrate previous achievements of Rotherham Football Club

You will probably now be aware that after a lengthy but sustained period of negotiation the Administrator has agreed a sale of the club to a new consortium led by Mr Tony Stewart of ASD Lighting PLC

As part of this outcome the Administrator is pleased to be able to confirm that the paintings have been returned to the control of the Club, care of Mr Stewart

Its great to see they have stayed within the club. Lets hope they are allowed to put them up at the Don valley.
