RUFC - VItal Rotherham Q &A's

Rotherham United have fans from all over the place - and with all sorts of jobs. With this users name you can probably guess what one of his 'jobs' is!

How long have you been supporting the Millers?
51 years

What is the most memorable game you have seen involving the Millers?
Man Utd 1966 at home not that I remember too much about the game but I was 15 and very impressionable.

Who is the best player you have ever seen in a Millers shirt?
hard one toss up between Dave Watson and Johnny Quinn

Who is the one player you would never have back in a Millers shirt?!
Gijbert total ****** Bos

f you could have any player to play for the Millers at the moment, who would it be?
Johnny Quinn

Which is the best football ground you have visited?
Reading closely followed by MK Dons

How long have you belonged to the Nostalgia Society?
My first meeting was 11/11/99

Who have you enjoyed listening to most at the Nostalgia Society? And can you tell us any funny stories from the guests at the Nostalgia Society?
Ray Lancaster, because of his pride being a rotherham lad,his passion when telling us his history and the humble way in which he took it as a honour and a pleasure to be asked to come and meet us
and the funny story:
after Jack Charlton had kicked Dave Bentley all over the park, when Rotherham were playing Leeds United at Millmoor, whilst Dave was being treated, Trevor Womble went over to Jack and asked him what he had got against Dave Bentley. Jacks reply was 'nobody kicks me an gets away with it.' To which Trevors reply was laughing at Jack 'it wasnt him it was me'

What are your thoughts on our move to Don Valley?
Pardon my french but suck it and see.
So long as I dont get called an apprentice dee daar.

If the move works and it doesnt take too long for the new ground to be built and hopefully I'm still around to get some pleasure out of it.

Personally if I had been Ken Booth I would want to be remembered as a hero not a business man who didnt know when he could have been on to a good thing. I mean if he now sells the land for housing then one: he has to get permission from a council that doesnt appear to like him, and two: if he did would anyone want to buy the houses in there position.

Thanks trnaw for answering our questions!

Great article, enjoy the bit about Jack Charlton. The Dave Bentley you refer to is that the one who was to work alongside Billy Bremner for years when he was manager of Donny and Leeds?

Dave Bentley went from Rotherham to Chesterfield and then onto Donny where he became junior coach and then assistant manager. I think he was also in somesort of management role with Mansfield and Chesterfield. I'll ask Zip if he was assistant manager to BB

Dazza - Zip says that it is the same Dave Bentley

I can remember seeing Dave Bentley play for the Rovers during the late 70's when BB first came to the club. Thats right he managed the juniors then was assitstant to BB at both Donny and Leeds.
