'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Wait for Football League Approval

Rotherham United's move to Don Valley could be in doubt after the Football League said that the club have yet to make a formal application for the move.

The League's Chief Operating Officer, Andy Williamson told Radio Sheffield, 'any application to move stadiums has to go before the League's Board of Directors. As yet, Rotherham United have not made an application.

'The situation is made more complicated because the club remain in administration and our priority is to establish how the club aims to exit from this position.'

Owner and Chairman of the Millers, Tony Stewart, said, 'As with any new stadium Don Valley had to conform to certain standards and there were two things that had to be sorted, one being health and safety. But it is all resolved now. We had to make sure all was in place before we submitted our application. It's just a formality that takes time but I have been assured that the application will be sent either today or Monday.'

Have the club got a contingency plan if the move is not ratified?

How can a ground that already hosts sporting events be failing an health and safety guideline?
dazza71
My thoughts exactly Dazza, cos I'm sure the reserves have played there in the past!!

What a pity the old farts at the league can't sort out the real priorities first. Like helping the clubs at the top end more and cutting off more cash for the lower leagues by ending replays etc. Then we'd all die off and there would be no problems.

Contingency plan, Dean1 - wouldn't think so. The Health and Safety issue I would imagine, though don't know, would be to do with the segregation. Yes, Bez, our Reserves did play there a couple of seasons ago (was it when the Titans played at Millmoor?) CTE - that is probably the plan - get rid of us little clubs then they won't have anyone keep nudging them and telling them they have to play fair

Typical of Winnie and his little piggies. Trough first problems later

I'd not heard that expression, before, codbater - but like it!

Oh! we put a label on everyone at Vital Lincoln Cas, as you know, you and Bez are part of the Mazza Mafia, away division. ;-)
