'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Permission Granted

Rotherham United have been given permission by the Football League to play their home games at Don Valley Stadium.

But this wasn't given until the club gave assurances that their time in Sheffield would only be temporary.

Owner, Tony Stewart, told The Star, 'My aim is to move forward and get a stadium built in Rotherham. I have told the football league that we are looking at plans and putting flesh on the bones of thoughts.

'We are working with the Borough Council and council leader Roger Stone and chief executive, Mike Cuff have instigated things and plans are afoot to get the new stadium in four years.

'The league didn't want us to be at Don Valley for years, they wanted us back in Rotherham and we have assured them that we will be.

'The dream of the stadium in Rotherham is going forward and we are putting a real plan in place.'

But four years though? If the ground had been started then I would have said no problems - but, as far as I can see, it's still the same as it was a year ago. I don't even know if the proposed site at Parkgate has been approved or passed or whatever yet

i agree mex, we have been down that road so so many times.
