'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Talks over stadium plans

Rotherham United's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas has been in a meeting to talk about the new community stadium to be built in the town.

Mr Douglas along with Rotherham Titans directors, Martin Jenkinson and Alan McHale, met with Council officials this week to talk over the plans for the 15,000 stadium that is to be built in Parkgate.

Mr Douglas told The Advertiser, 'I sensed a new determination to focus on what and when things need to be done in order to get this stadium completed in four years time.'

A stadium steering committee, which includes Millers owner, Tony Stewart, has been put together to drive the project forward.

With the Football League saying yesterday that the club have to be back playing football in their own town in four years time, the need for the Community Stadium is now urgent.
