'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Imps speak to League

Rotherham United are being talked about throughout Lincoln it seems and City's Chairman, Steff Wright, has contacted the Football League over concerns about the opening game of the season.

Speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo, Mr Wright said, 'The events at Rotherham have left us slightly concerned as to whether the first game of the season will actually go ahead and there was talk about the game being moved to Sincil Bank. This is one of the reasons we have been in contact with the league because we needed to know if we had to make preperations.

'The league stressed that there was no way that would happen and that they are confident that Rotherham will address the outstanding issues and the game will go ahead as planned.

'If that doesn't happen and Rotherham get expelled, which I expect to happen if they don't meet the league's deadline, then we will not have a game, it's as simple as that.

'As far as travel arrangements it will be business as usual as far as we are concerned. Until we hear otherwise we will be playing at Don Valley.'

I can't recall a set of fans as put-upon as you, for such a long period. You deserve a round of applause for not giving up, I'm not sure I could go through that much stress.

I take it there is no news from the meeting today. You know something if there is no news it is a disgrace. Even to come out of the meeting and say things went well would be helpful.

Fingers crossed it all gets sorted so we all know what is happening. Good luck Millers.

Any news yet on these outstanding issues? Good luck Millers, you deserve a break after the last few seasons you have endured.
