RUFC - What FourFourTwo think about us

RUFC - What FourFourTwo think about us

Rotherham United have had a peculiar pre-season - firstly getting ready for the new season at Millmoor, their home for more than one hundred years and then having to relocate and play at Don Valley and train at the Keepmoat. The offices had to be moved too, to the other side of Rotherham. All upheavel for a little club like Rotherham and their loyal fans. A few new faces have joined the Millers and all seemed to be settled with the team until the middle of last week when, skipper, Graham Coughlan moved to Shrewsbury, which, I think, was a little unexpected.

FourFourTwo, the football magazine, thinks that our future looks bright with new owner, Tony Stewart but warns that the short term prospects might not be quite so rosy. The magazine also says that more than 3,500 fans have pledged backing by buying season tickets - not quite sure where they got that figure from and I believe it to be nearer the 2,000 tickets sold. They also say that only a possible points deduction can stop us from getting into the play-offs.

Their man to watch is new signing Mark Burchill and this is what they have to say about manager, Mark Robins -'Perhaps the least celebrated English club manager to have enjoyed the luxury of witnessing Sir Alex Ferguson at close quarters during his playing days. His decisive manner would suggest that Fergie's influence is there.'

The odds they have given us on getting promotion are 20-1

Setanta Sports had their say too and they think our move to Don Valley could have a negative effect on the club.

A lot of these early prediction experts are often wrong whether they say teams will do well or falter, look at the NOTW for instance!
