'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - 'Clubs need to be honest with fans' Robins

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, says that it is time for the lower league clubs to get their houses in order and he thinks directors of clubs should take a hard long look at what they are spending and what they promise their fans.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Robins said, 'The people who are in charge of football clubs should cut according to their cloth and they have to be honest with their fans. Then the supporters would know what is being expected of the team in any given season. Promising things and then having to go through what we have just had to do is not right and it's the people who are making these promises that should be looked at.

'Football clubs up and down the country have to get their houses in order. Some clubs this season have already spent a hell of a lot of money to try and get out of this division but you have to be realistic - you are talking about players who are much of a muchness and they're playing at this level for a reason.'

And you know, that's all the fans have been asking - that the club tell us what's happening. Don't brush things under the carpet - keep us informed. We can cheer with you when things are on the up and we can rally round when things aren't so good. But we can't do either if we don't know.

Wise words indeed, then he goes and buys more players, double standards?
