RUFC - Barker to return to Millers?

Rotherham United owner, Tony Stewart, has said that he will release funds to bring former striker, Richie Barker back to the club, according to the Yorkshire Post.

Barker, who is currently at Hartlepool, played for the Millers for three seasons between 2001 and 2004 and helped them get into the Championship although after that he was mostly on the subs bench. He moved to Mansfield in November 2004 and scored two goals against the Millers in an FA Cup first round for the Stags. He joined Hartlepool in January last year and has scored fourteen goals for them.

It is thought that the Millers will be paying around £50k for the thirty-three year old.

When manager, Mark Robins was asked by the Yorkshire Post about the move for Barker, he said, 'I want to strengthen and we need greater competition for places. We are actively pursuing things but I would never do my business in public and until we are given permission to speak to the player, it is disrespectful to talk about my targets.'
