'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'Fans Fantastic'

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, has told RotherFM that he thought the supporters were fantastic last night.

'They were brilliant,' Robins said, 'and they came in their droves.'

Speaking about the game he carried on, 'We were penned in our own half for long periods of the game but I am pleased in the way we defended. We conceeded the first goal but got back into it straight away which was good. It's a relief more than anything else. For the second one we'd just lost Marc Joseph and we threw caution to the wind and put Ian Sharps up front, which caused problems to the Wednesday defence. He got his head to the ball and Reuben stuck it in the back of the net. And I wanted to get Ryan Taylor more involved and he worked his socks off last night as did Reuben when he replaced him down the middle which was very pleasing. I thought they were two good finishes for our goals and that the players kept their heads.

'We hadn't practised penalties, you can't practice for taking penalties facing the ASD Kop. Each penalty taker volunteered, each was confident and each one scored.

'It was pleasing to get our second win out of two games and let's hope it's the start of a good Cup run.'
