'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins Pre Chester

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, told RotherFM that the squad are in good spirits before tomorrow's game against Chester City at Don Valley.

'We've started reasonably well and everyone is on a high. But we have to make sure we are switched on for the game on Saturday. We have to go into each game with the same mental approach and I expect the players to carry on with the same work ethic. There will be blips along the way, I'm absolutely sure of that. But I think we have a squad of players who are capable of going into the next division. There are some decent young players starting to flourish who are working hard and know what's expected of them. We've had a good start but there are a lot of games to go although I'm sure we will come out of this season stronger.

'The supporters seem to have bought into what we are doing and the way we are playing at the moment and we have to carry that on.

'There's a few niggley injuries before tomorrows game but we'll know better after training today.'

Asked if he was still on the look out for someone before the transfer deadline, Robins answered, 'Possibly. We've got targets but until they become available we won't be buying anyone just for the sake of it.'

He then spoke about the news of the new training ground, 'We hope to move to a new training ground in twelve months time. But we need a site, which the council will help with. But we are staying at the Keepmoat for twelve months - it has great facilities and they have looked after us well. The Community Stadium will have to be developed over a longer period of time.'
