'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'Make our own bit of history'

Rotherham United's first floodlit game at Don Valley on Tuesday night went as well, if not better, than expected. Evening games always seem to be that bit more exciting to me and especially Cup games. So to hold Championship side, Wolves, to a 0-0 draw through ninety minutes, then extra time and win on penalties was verging on the edge of hysteria!

Manager, Mark Robins, told The Star, 'People were wondering what it would look like under the floodlights and making a thing of it being our first night match at Don Valley. I can tell you from where we sat the Main Stand looked quite striking and it helped with the stand being full of our own supporters.

'We have to make our own bit of history while we are at Don Valley and Tuesday night was a start. It will never have the intimacy of Millmoor but there is a sort of splendour to it when it's all lit up. Tuesday will be a good memory for people to take away.'
