Vital Rotherham Polls for August Results

Vital Rotherham had a few polls in August and here are the results from some of them.

The first August Poll was about this season's captain - Who should be captain next season? - Pablo Mills got half the votes with Andy Warrington and Ian Sharps coming in next. Seven per cent voted for 'other' - not quite sure who else it could have been to be honest! Well we all now know that the fifty per cent were correct as Pabs wears the skippers arm band with Sharps being made vice-captain.

Our next poll was about our first game of the season against Lincoln City -How many should we start with up front on Saturday? and the result was:

Two (48%)
Just the one (30%)
Let's go for it - Three (22%

and another poll about the first game was - Who Will be the First League Scorer at Don Valley - and thirty-two per cent correctly voted for Reuben Reid who scored just before half-time to put himself in the Millers Record Books. The poll result was:

Reuben Reid (32%)
Lincoln Player (28%)
Ryan Taylor (16%)
Alex Rhodes (12%)
Mark Burchill (12%)

The Millers were drawn away to Sheffield Wednesday in the first round of the Carling Cup and we asked about goalscorers again Who will be the first Miller to score on Tuesday night? and the results were:

Reuben Reid (45%)
Alex Rhodes (19%)
Ryan Taylor (12%)
Mr Miller, the ref! (12%)
Jamie Yates (9%)
Other Millers Player (3%)

With the majority going for Reid again it was actually the nineteen per cent who went for Alex Rhodes who got this one right and, of course, the Millers went onto win the game on penalties. I rather suspect that the twelve per cent who voted for the Ref to score first had wandered over from Vital Owls! (and welcome they are too!)

Still on the win at Hillsborough mexbro miller wanted to know What did the Wednesday result mean to you? and the result was:

Best feeling in the world (88%)
Words fail me (7%)
Just another game (5%)

Back to the League and dustymiller asked the question
Who will be the first Miller to score v Morecambe?
and not one person went for double goal scorer Mark Lynch! Although some did go for 'other player'

Reuben Reid (50%)
Other (29%)
Alex Rhodes (11%)
Jamie Yates (7%)
Mark Hudson (3%)

We then asked Do we need another striker? with more than half saying 'no' and when the question Apart from the League, which Cup Comp is the most important this is the result we got:

All as important as one another (59%)
FA Cup (24%)
JP Trophy (13%)
Carling Cup (4%)

dustymiller wanted to know Who will be the first Miller to score against Chester. Well the first goal was scored in the first minute by Ian Sharps and a lot of people missed it as they were still queueing for burgers and drinks! (mv and eebbee....!) The result of the poll was:

Reuben Reid (55%)
Ryan Taylor (14%)
Alex Rhodes (14%)
Other (10%)
Mark Lynch (7%)

dustymiller then asked if we thought we needed to strengthen the squad and seventy-five per cent said 'yes'.

We wanted to know Who would score first at Brentford and no one was right as the game ended 0-0!

We have been drawn against Southampton, at home, in the third round of the Carling Cup and we asked Will we beat the Saints in the Cup? with the results being:

No (44%)
Yes - on penalties (30%)
Yes - in 90 minutes (22%)
Yes - in extra time (4%)

we will just have to wait and see who was right in this one!
