Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins's side take on Southampton tonight in the Third round of the Carling Cup and are hoping to get their third Championship scalp. To get to this round, the Millers have already taken on and beaten Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers - both on penalties.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Robins said, 'I'm not saying we are going to win the Cup by any stretch of the imagination but, as long as you are in it, you always have a chance.'
Robins went on to say that it wasn't about the prize money, which is probably a good thing as there isn't any until the semi-final stage of the competition, but it's about getting the fans in to watch. 'It's about getting bums on seats,' he said, 'getting people through the turnstiles. It's important for us to stay in the Carling Cup because we are trying to rebuild a club from the foundations. It's been horrendous for everyone connected with Rotherham United for some years now and this is a great Cup run.
'I was lucky enough to win this competition when I was at Leicester and that was a fantastic experience. To have a good Cup run is just as important, for confidence, as winning in the league and we want to stay in this one as long as we can.'
