'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Fenton 'it was MY goal'!

Rotherham United's first goal last night was scored by Nick Fenton - because he says so!

The goal, scored in the twentieth minute, was first given to Drewe Broughton, but at half-time the linesman definitely said it was Fenton's goal.

Speaking to the Official Site, Fenton said, 'the ball crossed the line and the linesman flagged before it was put back in again. It was definitely my goal.

'It was a great performance from the lads. Southampton play some good football but I thought we handled them well. We dominated the game from the first whistle.

'The game at Dagenham and Redbridge will be completely different from last night. We are expecting more of a battle and we will start advanced preparations for that game on Thursday.'
