'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Stewart 'we want stability'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart, has told The Star that one of the main things he wants for Rotherham United is stability.

Speaking before this evenings Open Forum, Mr Stewart said,'This club has had eighteen months of turmoil and now we want to see it turned round and heading in the right direction.

'Rotherham United was fragmented and you could see where different departments weren't working together. There was no structure and my aim is to get all the different departments, who are working for this club, to all be pulling in the same direction. We want some stability and to bring hope to our fans, who have been tremendous these last few months. But we want more people in Rotherham to back this football club and to really buy into what we are aiming to achieve here.'

Tonight, Mr Stewart, who has squashed any rumours about returning to Millmoor, will be outlining the latest on the new stadium proposals.

He has also said he wants to take questions 'blind' from the audience - which, I find rather strange as both the Millers Trust and the Official Site have been suggesting we send questions to them for some time now.

But, I hope he does take questions from the audience, as I think there might be one or two interesting ones tonight.
