'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Barker Post Grimsby

Rotherham United striker, Richie Barker, said, after the win on Saturday, that he hopes to finish his days with the club.

Speaking to RotherFM, Barker said, 'It's good to be back and it was made easy for me coming on after we went three-one up. It would have been nice if my goal had been in front of the Tivoli but it's not to be.

'It seemed whoever was kicking against the wind had the best of it today and Grimsby deserved their one-nil lead at half time. But we upped our game and got what we deserved in the end.

'The biggest change, of course, since I've come back is the stadium and there's been a big change round of players over the last few years but the staff haven't changed.

'I've come back when we're on plus points but I feel for these lads who've watched the league table each week but they'll get a massive boost from being back in positive points.

'I didn't need much persuading to come back to Rotherham, there were a couple of other clubs after me but once I found out that Rotherham had shown an interest well...it's good to be back in the town where I live. I've said this the last few times I've moved but I think this will be my last time and I'd like to finish my days with Rotherham United.'
