'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Brogan gets all-clear

Rotherham United defender, Stephen Brogan has a happy smile on his face at the moment. As his manager, Mark Robins, revealed at an Open Forum last week, Stephen had a final scan last Tuesday and his surgeon has given him the all-clear.

Stephen broke his leg in February this year when playing against MK Dons in a League game and it was so bad, at the time, a doctor said he probably wouldn't play football again.

'I'm glad he didn't tell me that at the time,' Brogan told Radio Sheffield. 'He didn't tell me because he wanted to keep my head up. When he saw the last X-ray he was amazed how well it had healed.

'I've been running and doing some ball work for the last two or three weeks now and it's great being able to get out with the lads again. I've been doing lots of gym work and swimming every day to strengthen my leg and now I've stepped up the running. Obviously the leg isn't one hundred per cent yet but every week it's improving and I know what I'm doing is right.

'I've hated going to the games and having to watch but I've just had to get on with it. Hopefully, I should be back in January and I hope to start where I finished. I was playing in a left-wing-back roll and I was flying, scoring goals and getting mentioned. But, I'll play wherever the gaffer wants me to.'

Great news! Keep it up Stephen!
