'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Breckin 'Brogan is made of the right stuff'

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, John Breckin, told Radio Sheffield, that young Millers defender, Stephen 'Paddy' Brogan is a 'tough type'.

Twenty-year old Brogan, broke his leg in February playing against MK Dons and was recently shocked to hear his surgeon say he doubted that he'd ever play again. 'It knocked me back a bit,' admitted the young defender, 'and I'm glad he didn't tell me that at the start.'

Breckin said, 'The lad's had an unbelievable set back but he's a Rotherham lad, the tough type, made of the right stuff. He's done a lot of work with physio Denis Circuit in the gym and no one sees that. It's good to see him around the training ground again and having a bit of banter with the lads. He's noisy and we know when he's about the place!'

Brogan told The Advertiser, 'It's brilliant watching the lads win but at the same time it's horrible not being involved. I want to be out there playing and celebrating - it's not the same sitting in the stands. But, I won't be rushed back - I know my own body. It's my career and I don't want to mess it up.'

Breckin said, 'When he finally gets back it will be like having a new player at the club.'
