RUFC - Robins on Newsham

Rotherham United striker, Marc Newsham, has been sent out on loan to Gainsborough Trinity and Manager, Mark Robins says 'it's a chance for him to make an impression.'

Speaking to The Advertiser, Robins said, 'Marc got a pre-season injury and that's set him back a bit and we need to get him out there and playing. Like all the players who are out on loan, it's a chance for him to make an impression. He's gone for a month and it should help him getting a few games under his belt and get him back where we want him.'

Also out on loan are Tom Cahill who is at Ilkeston Town and Andy Todd who is at Eastwood. Peter Holmes was recalled from his loan period at York City earlier this week.

Newsham, twenty-one, is a product of the Millers Youth system and has figured, on and off, in the first team for the last four seasons. He started eleven league games last season, but also came off the bench a number of times, and scored four goals.
