RUFC - Tonge 'Great to see it go in'

Rotherham United midfielder, Dale Tonge, not only scored his first goal for the Millers in Saturday's two-one win at Macclesfield, but it was also his first ever senior goal.

'It was great to see it go in,' the twenty-three year old told The Star and then admitted, 'but I didn't know what to do for a celebration!'

Tonge, who joined the Millers from Barnsley last season, got back into the side after an injury to Mark Lynch carried on, 'Mark was playing well at the time and I was lucky to get in the side due to his misfortune. Hopefully, I can keep my place because I think I've done OK so far.'

Manager, Mark Robins, said, 'Dale deserved that goal. Just before Mark got injured, he was ready to come in. He'd kept going, shown good attitude and taken up the challenge and now he's got the bit between his teeth.'
