RUFC - Robins 'a nothing game'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, said that wasn't his team out there last night.

Well, actually, yes, Mark it was. What they were doing out there is probably not what you wanted them or told them to do, but, it was your team.

Speaking to The Star, Robins said, 'I didn't think either side looked anything, but we were poor. We lacked energy and creativity. Darlington slowed the game down and old manned us but we didn't get close enough to people. We can create more than that and run more.'

Speaking to the Official Site he carried on, 'We had four or five good chances but couldn't convert them. Then we shot ourselves in the foot and gave away a really poor goal. We didn't pass the ball at all and when we did we gave it away and that isn't us. I am really disappointed.

'There was an eerie atmosphere at Don Valley and I think the fans who turned out last night in those cold conditions deserve a medal. But they don't want medals, they want three points or at least a decent performance.

'I think this was a hangover from Saturday because it was a similar performance as Macclesfield. That is something we need to address and whether that means changes in personnel we will just have to wait and see.'

Personally, I think the passing has been terrible for a few games now. It doesn't flow; players don't seem to know where they should be - I saw Dale Tonge a couple of times last night get the ball look up and there wasn't a red shirt in sight. Which, to me, means there is little movement off the ball - and, that's not good enough.
