RUFC - Robins 'everyone's enjoying cup runs'

Rotherham United are still in three Cup Competitions - not something us fans are used to saying at this stage of the season! And, I think we are also making other fans and teams sit up and think too.

After beating teams in higher divisions than us - Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, Southampton, Wolves - last night the Millers knocked out League One's Leicester City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

So, what's it all down too? Well the Manager, Mark Robins says, 'It's great mentality but with that you need ability and the players have shown that time after time.'

Speaking to The Star, Robins carried on, 'We've brought in players who have played at a higher level and it shows. And, if they play like that in the cup games there is no reason why they can't play like that in the league. But, to play like that they have to encourage each other. They have the ability and have to believe in it week in, week out.

'Everyone has been enjoying these cup runs. The supporters are loving it and long may it continue. Cup games are always important but more so for us this season because of our position.

'Leicester paid us a compliment last night by putting out a team of first choice players and it was a great effort to play that well, beat them and do so deservedly.'

In the draw for the Northern Area semi-finals, along with Rotherham, are Darlington, Scunthorpe and Tranmere. The draw is on Saturday, 29th November on Soccer AM. The next round takes place the week commencing 15th December.
