RUFC - Sharps 'a credit to his profession'

Rotherham United defender, Ian Sharps, is 'a rock' according to his Manager, Mark Robins.

Speaking to The Star, the Millers gaffer said, 'I think Ian thought he was jinxed after the difficult times he's been through here. He's been through administrations, wage deferrals, seen thirty-seven points knocked off us while he's been with the club. But he's a real steady eddie and a great lad to have around. He's got his feet on the floor and is a real credit to his profession.

'He's been a rock this season at the heart of defence alongside Nick Fenton.'

Sharps is set to make his 100th appearance for the Millers in the FA Cup game at Aldershot this Saturday and Robins said, 'He's been in outstanding form and there's no reason he can't go on and add plenty more.'

ME ZIP ANS DAVE WERE TALKING ABOUT SHARPS ON TUESDAY... ONE OR TWO PRO'S OUGHT TO TAKE A LEAF OUT OF IAN SHARPS BOOK, HE IS TRUELY A TOP GUY AND AN ABSOLUTE TOTAL PRO. HE HAS SEEN THE MILLERS THROUGH -37pt DEDUCTION AND HAS SHOWN NOTHING MORE THAN 100% COMMITMENT AND LOYALTY TO THE MILLERS, HE GIVE 100% EVERY GAME AND FOR ME HE IS 100%. IT'S HIS 100th APPEARANCE SATURDAY AND I THINK WE SHOULD ALL MAKE THE EFFORT TO SHOW OUR GRATITUDE TO THE GR8 MAN..ANY IDEAS ????? PEOPLE KNOW MY FEELING TO FORMER PLAYERS BUT SHOUD IAN SHARPS EVER LEAVE AND COME BACK WITH ANOTHER TEAM HE WOULD GET A RATUROUS APPLAUSE FROM ME
