RUFC - Tonge 'tiredness not an excuse'

Rotherham United have played a lot of games lately and people are beginning to wonder if Tuesday nights FA Cup replay against Aldershot was that 'one game too many'.

Midfielder, and Man of the Match on the day, Dale Tonge, says that isn't the case. Speaking to RotherFM, the twenty-three year old said, 'Tiredness is not an excuse. We've played the same number of games as other teams. As a team we've got to go out there and do a job and we didn't go out there and do it.

'It was very disappointing to lose especially as it's the FA Cup which is a great competition. We started well but we've got to take our chances early on. And, if we don't, we're being punished. Once Aldershot went in front they started to sit back and we were having to force things. There was a lot of displaced passes which is frustrating for us and frustrating for the crowd. But, we've got a derby game with Bradford City in the league on Saturday and we've got to get on with it. Let's hope there will be a few more people in the crowd and that we can give them something to shout about.

'Personally, for me things are going OK but I'd take a win over man of the match any day.'
