RUFC - Robins 'I should have brought him off'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has admitted that he perhaps made a mistake on Saturday by not substituting striker, Drewe Broughton before he got sent off.

Speaking to The Star, the Millers manager said, 'We had a conversation with Drewe at half-time and I did think of fetching him off as he was on a yellow. But, he was causing real problems and doing ever so well. But, with hindsight we should have brought him off.'

Broughton was booked for what Robins called an 'innocuous challenge' in the first half and referee, Graham Horwood, had already had words with skipper Ian Sharps and Broughton himself about his fouls and Robins says 'I was thinking about taking him off twenty-five seconds before he got sent off and I perhaps should have done. But, twice, Drewe himself, went for headers and got kicked in the face - the second one their lad got booked for.'

Also sent off was on-loan goalkeeper, David Stockdale who gave a penalty away by bringing down Kevin McIntyre which means the Millers will be without both him and Broughton for next Saturday's home game against Aldershot.
