'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Johnstone's extend sponsorship

Rotherham United could well be involved in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy for a few more years after this season as Johnstone's Paints have agreed to sponsor the trophy for a further three seasons.

Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney said, 'I am delighted that another of our highly valued partners have decided to extend their relationship with the Football League. Two years ago we implemented a number of changes to increase its spectator appeal. Clubs have been attracting a new family audience to mid-week cup football through a range of innovations such as playing their first team sides and being encouraged to give under 16's free admission and experiment with earlier kick-off times. The result of this is that crowds have increased by sixty-nine per cent during the first two years of the current agreement. And, we aim to continue that progress.'
