RUFC - Sharps hopes to get back to winning ways

Rotherham United stand-in skipper, Ian Sharps is a bit frustrated that the team will be two short, due to red cards last weekend, for tomorrows game with Aldershot.

But, he told The Advertiser, that the players who will be taking their places are more than capable. 'The suspensions will test the strength of our squad but the players who come in will be more than capable and let's hope we get back to winning ways.'

Speaking about the game last Saturday at Shrewsbury, the tall defender said, 'It was certainly an incident packed second half! And, I think you can understand the two sendings off but, when you look at how much protection Drewe Broughton was getting, I think it was a bit unfair. He was fouled at least three times and Town got just one booking between them. The referee had little option but to send David Stockdale off as he was the last man and by the book he had to go.

'I thought we controlled the first half although we should perhaps have taken our chances. And, when they came out for the second half they were edgy and had obviously been told they weren't doing very well. Even when we went down to nine men they were dropping back very deeply. But, they are a good side.

'It's worrying that we've gone six league games without a win but if we can perform like we did against Shrewsbury, who are one of the best teams in the league, then we should be all right.

'We've got Aldershot on Saturday and we will be looking for some payback.'
