'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'good to be back to winning ways'

Rotherham United got nine points out of nine over the Christmas period which was very welcome after the 'blip' they've been suffering of late.

Wins against Accrington Stanley, Port Vale and Notts County have taken the Millers to the dizzy heights of twentieth in League Two - which can't be bad for a team who started on minus seventeen.

Speaking to The Star, Manager, Mark Robins said, 'Getting back to winning ways was timely and the three wins on the bounce was just what was ordered. And there's the bonus of seeing some effect on the league table.

'We'd had a run of not winning although it was probably the tough schedule that had probably taken it's toll. But, we've kicked on again with these results over Christmas and the players have certainly grafted hard in those games.'

In fact, the players have probably done better than most of us think as there has been a virus in the camp. It's thought that Mark Hudson, Drewe Broughton and Ryan Taylor have been affected and Micky Cummins told RotherFM, after Sunday's win at Notts County, that he'd not been feeling well either.

'We had one or two suffering,' Robins admitted, 'but they showed great spirit and managed to play.'
