'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Tonge wants to stay

Rotherham United midfielder, Dale Tonge, says that he is really enjoying his football at the moment.

An injury to Mark Lynch gave the twenty-three year old his chance in the first team this season in the Carling Cup against Southampton and he's been in the team ever since. Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Tonge said, 'I'm back in the team and long may that continue. And I'd definitely like to stay here but I'll have to see what happens. Hopefully, if I play like I have been doing and keep improving, I'll get the chance to stay.

'We had a shocking run in November but Christmas has been great and to be unbeaten is what every team wants. I think the win at Accrington was a bit of a turning point and the first half hour was probably the best football we've played. And, we've just kicked on from there. It was a different sort of game against Port Vale when we only had ten men. With our backs to the wall we dug out a win which showed that the lads are all together and what a good bunch of lads we have here. At Notts County we managed to keep a clean sheet and score three and last weekend against Dagenham we kept going and scored in the last minute. I think this is a sign of a good team.'
