RUFC - Joseph 'been stop-start season'
Rotherham United defender, Marc Joseph, told the Yorkshire Evening Post, that this season has been a stop-start one for him.
'We had a good season last season and were unlucky to finish outside the play off places,' the thirty-two year old said, 'and I think this season is much the same. It will be tricky for us to get promoted this season, and I think we would have been if it hadn't been for the minus points. But, if we get into a position where, if we hadn't lost the points, we would have had an opportunity to be in the play offs then it says a lot about the character of the players we have here at the moment. And, looking at it that way we've had a good season.
'It's going to be a big push next season and a fresh start. We are getting used to the ground and I think everyone is looking at least to a play off place.'
Joseph's contract is up this summer and he is desperate to get back into the side on a regular basis and earn a new contract. He's been in and out of the team this season with injuries and suspensions and says it's been a stop-start season for him, 'The injury was unlucky and the other stuff, me getting banned, was stupidity. But, I've been lucky that I've been on the bench for the last few games and getting a few minutes here and there every week. I'm just waiting for my chance to get back into the first team and prove that I'm good enough to stay there.'
