RUFC - Robins 'training hit and miss'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has been trying to get his side ready for the hectic schedule they find themselves in due to the inclement weather of late.

Having had games postponed, both home and away, because of snow, ice and waterlogged pitches, the gaffer told The Advertiser, that training had been a bit hit and miss this week. The squad did actually manage to train on the grass one day at the Keepmoat, which is their training base at present, but yesterday it was frozen solid again and so they were back to the astroturf.

'You can't legislate for the weather,' Robins said, 'you just have to get on with it. You can't do as much on the astroturf because of pressure on the joints but they're all fit lads who are champing at the bit for a game. And we need to make sure that we get back tuned in and are ready to go.

'Gillingham have some good players who have confidence and they are in and around the play-offs. We remember what it was like losing to them earlier on in the season and know that we will have to win the physical battle first.'
